Pumpkin Patch--Oct. 23, 2010

This year, our "regular" pumpkin patch wasn't open, so I found another one that was close to Hesston. My mom was watching Addie and Ty, so they met us there and we had SO much fun! This pumpkin patch definitely gave our old one a run for it's money!

Oliver launching some mini pumpkins...which he LOVED!

Eli playing in a big trough of corn

Oliver holding his first pumpkin that he found! Picking pumpkins from the field turned out to be more like an easter egg hunt...whenever the kids found a pumpkin, any pumpkin, they wanted to pick it and keep it!

Addie, Ty, and Oliver hauling the pumpkin wagon

Eli wasn't too thrilled with the pumpkins...he was actually pretty content just to be outside and watch the kids run around!

Do you think we picked enough pumpkins???

Eli's first haircut!--Oct. 23, 2010

Eli's semi-curly hair was so cute sometimes, but other times it would like a big old mess! I decided it was time for his first haircut. This is what his hair looked like before. (And a special thanks to my fantastic photographer, Oliver!)

I had no idea how the whole thing would go...in the beginning, Eli was NOT thrilled about having some strange lady messing with his hair. Even his favorite crackers were not making him feel better!

Finally, I think he conceded to the fact that he was going to need to sit there and let her cut his hair.

The finished product! Nice and trimmed up! Hopefully we won't have to do this again for a little while. Right?!?

Oliver playing soccer--Oct. 16, 2010

These photos were taken during a soccer tournament Oliver had last weekend. My camera wasn't cooperating, so I'm not very pleased with these pictures, but at least you get the idea.

Mess Maker--Oct. 14, 2010

The other day I was gathering laundry and walked into the kitchen to find this lovely mess! Eli had opened the doors to the cupboard, pulled down the Cheerio box, opened the Cheerio box, and poured himself a little treat! I've got to keep my eye on this one!

Say Cheese!--Oct. 7, 2010

Last night we took the boys to get their pictures taken at Portrait Innovations. I was feeling guilty because by the time Oliver was one, he had his picture professionally taken at least FIVE times. When Eli turned one, he had his picture professionally taken ONE time! Anyway, I wasn't sure how things would go, but I was pleasantly surprised! These are just a few, yes a few, of my favorites!

Party for the Birthday Boys--Oct. 3, 2010

This year we had a family party at Mom and Dad's for both of the boys. Mom made her famous pizza (at Oliver's request) which was awesome! We bought a pinata for the boys (and Brett, Addie, and Ty) to enjoy. Eli was not sure about the whole thing and would barely even hold the stick!

Oliver, on the other hand, would have swung at it all night! After all of the kids had a turn, Oliver eventually broke it!

Eli opening presents...well actually we opened them for him. He was slightly overwhelmed by the experience!

This look of slight terror was pretty much the expression on Eli's face all evening! I guess getting in four of his top teeth wasn't helping the situation!

Our family

Eli was very clean with his cake! When Oliver turned one, he had cake all over himself, including his stomach! Eli just kind of picked at with his fingers, took a few bites, and was finished! Oh, well!

Instead of a cake, Oliver wanted me to make Figgy Pudding for his birthday dessert. For the last couple of years, he and I made it for Pat's birthday. I think Oliver thought it would be a pretty tasty alternative to cake!

Oliver's Birthday!!--Oct. 2, 2010

Happy Birthday, my big 7 year old! For the last couple of years, Oliver has wanted a doughnut for his birthday breakfast. This year was no different. I think we sang to him at least 4 times??? so he could blow out his candle over and over again! Actually he liked lighting it more than anything!

Oliver gets a doughnut, Eli gets Cheerios!

Ollie has been BEGGING for Heely's shoes for what seems like years! (For those of you who aren't familiar with them, Heely's are shoes that have a removable wheel in the heel of the shoes.) Anyway, Pat and I finally gave in and he was ecstatic! Over his birthday weekend, I think he only took them off of his feet to shower and sleep!

Oliver's birthday cake and cupcakes at his "friends" party at Pump It Up. He wanted a Transformer cake this year.

Overall, Oliver said he had a great party, which is what we were hoping for! I just can't believe my baby is 7!
